537,656 people have decided to make this county home. Referred to as "Providence County" by many early settlers, it's the county where the state capital, Annapolis, is located.

It is a very scenic county that shows the best of the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries. It is the place where the first naval colonial battle in America, the Battle of the Severn, was fought. Which, comes as no surprise, considering most of the County's borders are defined by water and considering 173 square miles of it's total area (588 square miles) is water.

Anne Arundel County has a humid subtropical climate, with hot summers and cool winters. Annual rainfall is approximately 40 inches and is evenly distributed throughout the year. Also, expect around 22.0 inches of snow during the year. It is a place where season collide to give you the best of what the United States has to offer.

With great variety in it's topography, weather, housing, and people it's easy to understand why so many people choose to make Anne Arundel the place they call home.
